Yoga & Meditation for equestrians
Breath Body Horse’s Yoga and Meditation course is designed to help nourish the balance, harmony, and rhythm between horse and rider through mediation and yogic modalities including: breath work, mindfulness, yoga, guided meditations, equine assisted / lead meditations, journaling and more.
The way our bodies move out of saddle directly impact how our bodies move in the saddle. Furthermore, this impacts the way our horse(s) move with us both on the ground and mounted. When we work to balance our bodies, we are also working to balance our horse.
Yogic instruction for equestrians focuses on areas which are often more problematic for riders than for non-riders including: hips, lower back, upper back, shoulders, and center line balance in body movement.
Meditation for equestrians employs meditation, equine meditation, mindfulness, and breath work techniques to support the relationship. Horses exist in the here and now, in order to communicate clearly with them, and ourselves, we must meet them in the present just as we must meet ourselves in the present.
Instruction focuses on enhancing the communication between rider and horse, while nurturing communication with self. Just as our horses are extensions of us, we are also extensions of them, and what we do to help ourselves, also helps them. Horse and rider are inter being – they inter-are.
